Spiced Chick Peas (Servers For Four)

  • 250 gm chick peas
  • 650cc / 2 ½ cups water
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp canola oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 inch grated ginger
  • 2 green chilies chopped
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 2 table spoon green mango powder
  • ½ tsp red chili powder
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • Black salt to taste
  • Coriander fresh chopped
  • 1 onion chopped
Image Placeholder Soak the chick peas overnight in the water with baking soda. Boil the chick peas in pressure cooker for 30 minutes until tender in low fire. Heat oil in another pan and fry ginger and chilies add all ingredients simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add the chick peas and stir well. Cover and simmer gently for 10 minutes. Sprinkle with coriander and onion. Serve hot with rice or chappatis.
